MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
INNOVATIVE TEACHING METHODOLOGY
PROGRESSIVE LEARNING LABORATORY EXPERIMENTS
Progressive learning laboratory experiments are set of experiments distributed across different semesters in the curriculum. It offers unique opportunity to the students to learn and practice the fundamentals of basic fitting, welding, machining and metrology. The outcomes of these experiments were integrated to make a spur gear assembly. students also learn about the effect of errors during machining, welding on the final assembly. The experiments were distributed from fourth semester onwards is also aligned in-line with the theory papers. The student can recollect the important learnings from theory and correlate with the outcome of these experiments.
Laboratories involved in these experiments
- Basic workshop – fitting, welding
- Lathe shop – shaft machining
- Production process laboratory – gear cutting, gear hobbing, drilling and keyway cutting
- Metrology laboratory – inspection of gears.
ILENSYS –PRODUCT APPLICATION CENTRE
ILENSYS – Product Application Centre provides a laboratory to enhance the knowledge through real time product and its application. The laboratory facilitates with various domains such as Automotive, Thermal, Energy Engineering etc., the laboratory also provides curriculum based module with practical learning. These modules access by students and faculty through individual login and get experimental learning with various product such as Washing Machine , Refrigerator, Air conditioner, Nano car, Air compressor & Diesel Engine .
The ILENSYS – Product Application Centre provides following module,
- Engineering Mechanics
- Strength of Materials
- Engineering Thermodynamics
- Fluid Mechanics and Machinery
- Manufacturing Technology –I
- Kinematics of Machinery
- Manufacturing Technology –II
- Engineering Materials and Metallurgy
- Thermal Engineering
